Always Do Your Best

I recently heard a man expressing his discouragement about the state of affairs in our nation.  I believe his views represent many in our country who are anxious about the economy, politics and the general lack of integrity we witness in everyday life.

One can easily become cynical and negative about life because much of what we experience in life is out of our hands.  But we can control what we do and how we react to all that’s going on around us.  We can determine to do and to be at our best wherever God places us.

As God’s children we must take an optimistic view of life if we believe God is who and what He says He is.  God is our Creator, Savior and an ever-present Help. There isn’t anything we experience that, with God’s help, we can’t manage! However, God can’t help us if we aren’t determined to do our best as His servant. We can “do all things through Christ” if we have the desire to DO!

I’m sure each of us has moments when we are discouraged but as followers of Christ we dare not stay discouraged.  We must be determined to do our best and trust that God will provide us with the means to be at our best.  I believe we must work at changing our world and the best way to do that is to make sure we are at our best!  God help us to not only say, “I can do all things through Christ,” but to help us to live that way.
